System Integration Manager - Pre-Construction

ConXtech has an excellent opportunity for an energetic self-starter with exceptional communication and technical skills to join our growing team as a Systems Integration Manager. 

Job Summary:  ConX Systems Integration Managers are responsible for providing systemized solutions and offering technical support from the initial sales contact - through the structural and architectural detailing processes on a project by project basis.  Reporting to ConXtech's Vice President of Design & Integration, Integration Managers are responsible for interfacing with developers, architects, engineers, GC's, and a variety of sub-contractors to drive a variety of pre-sales through post-sales functions ensuring the success of our customers and their teams, while driving the profitable growth of ConXtech .

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing technical architectural design and integration support for ConXtech customers and their design teams through the integration of ConXtech's standard details.
  • Act as the primary liaison or "hub" of communication between all team members including customers, design professionals, sub-contractors, sales, and field in the pre-sales through detailing phases.
  • Analysis of customer inquiries to identify, priortize and drive new business opportunities as well as set appropriate expectations for all involved.
  • Develop, scope and budget projects to ensure that external as well as internal expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Field incoming inquires about ConXtech products and services.
  • Attend and participate in company sales meetings and trade or industry meetings, shows and conventions to increase knowledge of ConXtech products, and cultivate good working relationships with ConXtech users.
  • Identify and develop relationships with key builder and developer customers at all levels.
  • Drive the positioning of ConXtech as the preferred supplier to new residential and commercial construction channels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of  Multi-family construction experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to present the core technical expertise, capabilities and value proposition of ConXtech products and services.

Project Engineer/ Field Superintendent

ConXtech is seeking an experienced person to manage and coordinate the daily field construction operations of multi-story residential and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage change order process

  • Receive and confirm shipments and reconcile discrepancies as necessary

  • Prepare site analysis reports for safety, quality and logistics

  • Assist in the preparation of estimates by gathering budget and costs for various portions of the project

  • Attend project meetings and manage the follow-up on action items

  • Process Requests for Information (RFI's) efficiently and accurately

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with project team members both internally and externally

  • Review and comprehend project construction documents and shop drawings in order to communicate intentions and requirements

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management

  • 2-5 years in construction management with extensive experience in project documentation

  • Skilled at analyzing causes of variances between actual and budgeted income and expenses

  • Familiarity with issues of compliance for state and federal regulations

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications

  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to function effectively as independent operator

Compensation:

  • Compensation for this position will consist of a competitive base salary and an incentive bonus, which are commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience level and qualifications.  This position will also be eligible for stock options through the ConXtech employee stock option plan.

Structural Steel Detailer

ConXtech currently seeks experienced and exceptional structural steel detailers for analyzing structural steel and architectural blueprints, detailing shop drawings for the construction of multi-story, steel frame residential and commercial buildings.  ConXtech has developed a breakthrough, patented-protected structural steel frame system for mid-rise (4-12 story) residential buildings that enables faster, safer and higher quality construction than conventional concrete, wood or steel.  The company is undergoing tremendous demand and growth in the Bay Area, and has begun expanding nationally. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare plans and shop drawings using the latest version of AutoCAD and PRO STEEL 3D structural steel modeling and detailing software
  • Detail a complete job by creating a model in PRO STEEL 3D
  • Create shop and fabrication drawings in 2D CAD and 3D CAD
  • Work with Architects and Engineers to integrate design of building into ConXtech space frame system
  • Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of architectural and/or structural engineering work background
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2000 or current with 2 year minimum experience
  • Proficiency in PRO STEEL 3D or similar
  • Ability to interpret architectural and structural contract documents
  • Ability to work with/modify existing CAD files and generate new ones
  • Ability to seek out missing information and initiate RFI’s for missing information
  • Ability to cross reference drawings and assimilate information from multiple drawings to ensure the finished product reflects workable document construction crews can proceed without further research
  • Ability to communicate/clarify drawing specifications to constructions crews
  • Understand AISC code requirements, shop processes and erection process and procedures
  • Familiar with OSHA and ADA requirements

Senior Project Manager

ConXtech currently seeks an experienced dynamic project manager for project planning for the construction of multi-story, steel frame residential and commercial buildings.  ConXtech has developed a breakthrough, patented-protected structural steel frame system for mid-rise (4-12 story) residential buildings that enables faster, safer and higher quality construction than conventional concrete, wood or steel.  The company is undergoing tremendous demand and growth in the Bay Area, and has begun expanding nationally. 

Job Summary:  To bring all construction projects in on time and on budget and at a level of quality consistent with or exceeding established company standards.  His/her involvement in the process starts with pre-construction and continues through job close-out and warranty management.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Senior PM provides support and technical assistance in review of new projects and projects in preconstruction phase of development
  • Actively participate in the preparation of initial project design, cost estimates, preliminary budget and schedule
  • Work with Architects, Engineers, Structural Detailer to integrate design of building into ConXtech space frame system;
  • Coordinate and provide the necessary information to Structural Detailers to ensure the proper design, fabrication and installation of ConXtech components
  • Work with the Design team, Structural Detailing team, and Construction team to ensure that manufacturing 0 (zero) defect goals are met
  • Full estimating services, including preconstruction/value engineering.
  • Contractual and scope negotiations.
  • Primary on-site interface with Owner/Owner representatives
  • Take corrective action as warranted to insure budget, schedule, and quality targets are achieved
  • Primary problem solver and handles conflict resolution on project
  • Attend and conduct weekly project meetings, produce meeting minutes and action plans and follow up on same
  • Documentation of all significant project events
  • Coordinate and prepare Subcontracts, P.O.s, cost control budgets, and maintenance of historical cost and data specific to assigned project.

Requirements

  • Ten to fifteen years of construction experience, including a minimum of five years in field management as a Project Manager or Superintendent; must have an understanding of residential and commercial construction process.
  • Thorough knowledge of company procedures, estimating, cost control, building systems and components, project scheduling, and contractual language.
  • Thorough familiarity with problem analysis
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively function in a team environment
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills with ability to work on multiple projects
  • Strong computer skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong negotiation skills
