Etienne Deffarges

Board Member

Mr. Deffarges is a founding Operating Partner at Chicago Pacific Founders (“CPF”). Established in 2014 in San Francisco, CPF serves as an investment source for companies developing innovations for healthcare delivery and caring for aging populations. His decades in executive roles and extensive relationships with healthcare providers worldwide provide invaluable insights to ConXtech, as Healthcare remains one of the company’s key markets.

Prior to CPF, Mr. Deffarges was Vice-Chairman and member of the founding management team of Accretive Health, helping to take the company public in 2010. He was the Global Managing Partner of Utilities Practice and member of the Executive Committee and Global Management Council at Accenture, Plc where he participated in company’s IPO in 2001. Prior to Accenture, Mr. Deffarges was a Partner at Booz Allen Hamilton.

In addition to ConXtech, Mr. Deffarges is a board member of Harvard Angels, Accumen and A. Ducasse Enterprises. He received his MBA from Harvard, where he was a Baker Scholar. He also holds a MSc in Civil Engineering from UC Berkeley, as well as an MSc in Aeronautical Engineering from the French National School of Aeronautics and Aerospace.


 

Steve Foster

Board Member

Mr. Foster brings 30+ years of technology and energy expertise including 20 years in private equity and venture capital. His track record includes investments in many high profile successful companies including Juniper Networks, Extreme Networks, Avanex and Chromatis (sold to Lucent for $4.5B).

Currently, Steve is Managing Director at SF Advisors, a firm focused on early startups in the information technology and energy sectors. Mr. Foster’s CV also includes Managing Partner at ClearSky Power and Technology Fund; successfully establishing Texas Pacific Group’s (TPG’s) venture capital and growth equity funds; and Partner with Crosspoint Venture Partners. Early in his career he led Corporate Business Development at 3Com and spent several years at Hewlett Packard in a variety of sales, marketing, finance and business development roles.

In addition to serving on ConXtech’s Board, Mr. Foster currently serves as an advisor to several startups; is Chairman of the advisory board for the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University; and serves on the advisory board of the National Renewable Energy Labs.

Mr. Foster earned a Masters in Management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and graduated with honors from Santa Clara University.


 

Dean Glover

Board Member

Mr. Glover is currently CEO and President of Miratech Group, LLC and CEO of Techniks Tool Group. He brings over 25 years of product manufacturing, engineering and supply chain expertise to ConXtech’s Board.

Prior to Miratech, Mr. Glover led global manufacturing and supply chain operations, and served as Chairman and CEO of Diebold France. He also held executive roles at Global Power Equipment Group Inc. and Braden Manufacturing. Earlier in his career, Mr. Glover spent 13 years with General Electric in managerial and technical roles. In addition to ConXtech, Mr. Glover serves on the board of Ocean Power Technologies, Inc.

Mr. Glover holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. He also is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt.


 

Kevin Skillern

Board Member

Mr. Skillern has spent the majority of his 25-year career focused on investment and strategy development in the global energy sector. He is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Energy Innovation Capital (EIC), the premier capital provider to innovative energy technology companies. ConXtech was one of the first EIC investments.

Prior to EIC, Mr. Skillern led GE’s technology investment program from 2005 through 2013, investing in emerging technology companies in the energy industry. He also led a joint $300 million fund with ConocoPhillips and NRG Energy. Prior to GE, Mr. Skillern’s previous experience included key roles in a number of equity and debt investments, and 9 years as a strategy consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton. Mr. Skillern has an MBA from Stanford University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.


 

Jim Sledzik

Board Member

Jim Sledzik is Managing Director for the North America team of Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures (SAEV). The corporate venture capital fund invests globally in early-stage and high-growth technology companies of strategic importance to Saudi Aramco.

With more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including 10 years in venture capital and private equity investing, Jim joined Aramco in October 2018. He is responsible for overseeing existing investments and growing SAEV’s investment portfolio in North America.

Prior to Aramco, Mr. Sledzik served as Managing Director at Hall Labs, known for innovation in tackling some of the world’s most challenging problems, ranging from sustainability to personal transportation. He provided corporate governance and strategic direction for companies incubated within Hall Labs, assisting with product development, patents and monetizing game-changing technologies in the world’s largest markets.

Mr. Sledzik served as Senior Partner and President of North America for EV Private Equity from 2008 to 2017, managing five funds targeting technology-driven, high-growth potential companies in the upstream oil and gas sector. His career spans a wide range of marketing and technology roles including Global Marketing & New Technology Director and Vice President of Multi Client Services for geophysical services company WesternGeco and Global Account Director for oil and gas technology provider Schlumberger.

Jim earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor’s of science in geosciences from Pennsylvania State University. He is a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and serves on the advisory board for the Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship at Rice University.
