Gilles Caussade

Chief Executive Officer

Gilles Caussade has more than twenty-five years of experience in Construction and large projects. He joined ConXtech from Jacobs Engineering where he was most recently the head of Petroleum and Chemicals for the Americas, a $2 billion a year business with operations in the US, Canada, and Mexico. In that role, Gilles was accountable for strategy, sales, operations, and financial performance across refining, chemicals, and the oil & gas industries. His team included over 4,000 engineers, designers, sales and other staff. Before leading the Petroleum and Chemicals Americas business, Gilles spent more than two decades working in every aspect of project design, construction, and delivery at Jacobs. He started his career as a process engineer and then became project manager before leading a significant part of the heavy Industry business in Europe. He has served a wide range of Industries, like power, pharmaceutical, government buildings, manufacturing and healthcare facilities in addition to his extensive expertise in the process industry.

While at Jacobs, Gilles developed a passion for improving building and construction processes. He led a number of innovative approaches to design, build, and contracting in the EPC industry. As a former ConXtech customer, Gilles saw first-hand how the Company’s system, technology, and approach could benefit clients. Gilles is based in ConXtech’s headquarters in Pleasanton, California.


 

 

Mike Martini

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Martini brings more than 30 years of executive experience including finance (CFO), business operations and corporate strategy experience to support ConXtech’s rapid growth. Over three decades Mike has honed his expertise in both privately held and public companies. His consummate financial and operational strategies have resulted in successful growth, and ultimately monetization through M&A or IPO. His experience will be invaluable as ConXtech accelerates its deployment of ConX System technologies domestically and abroad.

Mike’s prior roles include  CFO, and other financial and strategic positions in the telecom, cable, utilities, software and transportation industries. Most recently, he served as CFO at enLightened, Inc., where he led finance, accounting, HR and legal. During his tenure, he helped raise over $50M in Series C & D financing. Prior to that, Mike served as CFO for:  Freightquote (acquired by CH Robinson), Saba Software (NASDAQ Company acquired by Vector Capital), @Road, Inc (NASDAQ Company acquired by Trimble Navigation), SPL World Group, BV (acquired by Oracle Corporation).  Other executive roles include TCI Communications and ATT – West Region where he served as CFO  and VP High Speed Data Operations for the regional cable TV, broadband and telecommunications entity prior to its sale to Comcast, as well as CFO roles for Subsidiary Companies of Pacific Telesis, now part of ATT.


 

Robert Simmons

Co-Founder, CTO and Chairman of the Board

Mr. Simmons is responsible for ConXtech’s product development strategy and R&D. A serial entrepreneur, he is renowned as a hands-on innovator and thought leader in the emerging Industrialized Construction sector.

Self-employed since the age of 17, Mr. Simmons’ early career focused on delivering structural concrete parking podiums for large regional and national high-density residential developers. Over decades, his design-build concrete company, RJS & Associates, has grown to employ over 400 full-time employees.

In 2000, Mr. Simmons conceived the ConX System after working to develop a more efficient structural solution to replace the wood framing typically constructed atop RJS’s concrete podiums. Mr. Simmons identified structural steel as the optimal medium for its strength, architectural flexibility and overall sustainability and began to design a modular system based on manufacturable and simple connectivity. He has since developed ConX Systems for commercial and industrial applications and continues to innovate around a growing portfolio of 140+ U.S. and foreign patents.

 

Michel (Kelly) Luttrell

Co-Founder and Senior Vice President, Business Development 

Ms. Luttrell manages the company’s strategic client relationships, marketing and intellectual property activities. Before joining ConXtech, Ms. Luttrell served as VP of Security Technology & Solution Sales at Wave Systems Corporation. During her five years at Wave, she was responsible for sales and licensing of embedded cybersecurity solutions to industry-leading OS software companies and manufacturers of end-point devices such a PC’s. Prior to Wave, Ms. Luttrell spent nine years at Silicon Graphics Computer Systems in sales and marketing and was the Strategic Account Manager for Silicon Graphics’ largest customer. In the first three years in this role, Ms. Luttrell helped grow the account fourfold to over $60 million in annual revenue. Prior to Silicon Graphics, Ms. Luttrell was a Marketing Representative focused on the manufacturing sector at IBM Corporation. Ms. Luttrell holds a B.S. in Environmental Design from the University of California, Davis.

 

Travis (TJ) Simmons

Senior Vice President, Production Operations

Mr. Simmons manages day-to-day field operations of ConXtech Construction. He and his team also interface with development, engineering and architectural teams to ensure a seamless flow from building concept to manufacturing through field assembly. Mr. Simmons has significant experience in construction project layout, operating sophisticated manufacturing equipment and manufacturing equipment specifications.

Over the past decade, Mr. Simmons has contributed this expertise to the construction of millions of square feet of residential and mixed-use, office and other structures valued at more than $180 million. Mr. Simmons was instrumental in the initial development of the ConX System. As a part of that effort, he produced the first CAD/CAM versions, built the prototype system components and tooling fixtures, managed outsourcing of the prototype and assembly, managed the design, fabrication and installation of the “test frame” and supervised ConX System testing. Mr. Simmons is a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction.

 

Raymond G. Kitasoe

Vice President, Engineering Research & Testing

Mr. Kitasoe oversees the on-going refinement, testing and municipal & regulatory approval processes for the ConX System. Mr. Kitasoe has over 37 years of experience in the construction and high tech industries. His experiences include working for structural engineering firm H. J. Degenkolb as a Design Engineer, Advanced Micro Devices as a Financial Division Controller and various General Contractors/Developers as Project Manager. Mr. Kitasoe is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of California with a B.S. in Civil Engineering with honors, an M.S. in Structural Engineering & Structural Mechanics and an M.B.A. all from the University of California, Berkeley.

 

Adam L. Browne, S.E.

CSEO, Chief Structural Engineering Officer

As the CSEO, Mr. Browne is responsible for ConXtech’s standardized calculations and design methodologies. He also provides technical recommendations and guidance to outside engineering firms working with the ConX System.

Mr. Browne is a licensed California structural engineer with over 20 years of experience. He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of California at Santa Cruz and studied structural engineering at San Francisco State University before joining the firm BFL/OWEN in 1994. He went on to work for Balfour Beatty as their chief engineer on the Golden Gate Bridge Northern Approach Viaduct Seismic Retrofit and California Engineering/Modern Continental’s chief engineer for the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge Seismic Retrofit. Before joining ConXtech in 2012, Mr. Browne was the EOR at FBA and Associates, responsible for the structural design on the first 2 million square feet of ConX structure. There, he was integral in establishing acceptability of the framing system with various building departments and jurisdictions.

 

Chris King

Senior Vice President, Sales & Support

Chris King is responsible for providing ConX solutions in the High-Density Residential, Hospitality, Healthcare, Institutional, Data Center and Office building market segments. Mr. King has spent the last 4 years at ConXtech with a sincere commitment for developing long-term industry relationships and providing extraordinary client interactions.

Over the past 15 years, Mr. King has had continuous achievement in progressive leadership roles at the forefront of customer-oriented product solutions and client success. Mr. King also manages the Company’s Estimating and Building Information Modeling (BIM) departments. Mr. King was instrumental in the creation of ConXtech’s seamless digital workflow process. As a part of that effort, he helped produce and refine our Engineering to Estimating digital workflow process, designed and implemented ConXtech’s CRM system, and implemented workflow improvements across various departmental activities.
