ConXtech, Safely Building The Future

At ConXtech, safety is our highest priority. “Faster, Better and Safer” was the first thing inventor Bob Simmons scribbled on a yellow notepad in 2000, as he drew the initial sketches of an innovative building system that would become ConX.

ConXtech has worked to ensure that those who are in our manufacturing facility as well as on the jobsite are as safe as possible. In fact, we have tried to integrate safety into each step of our process. For example:

• The simple “lower & lock” design of ConXBeam to column connections are inherently safer than conventional steel erection.
• ConXtech factory welds an innovative bracket system to vertical columns which allows the simple insertion of cable-rail for fall protection around the perimeter of our structures during the erection phase.
• ConXtech factory installs light gauge horizontal “guard-rails” at window openings on exterior wall panels to provide additional fall protection.
• The permanent “exit stair” system is prefabricated in a factory environment and simply installed on day one or two of field assembly. The permanent hand rail is already in place when the stairs are lowered into place, and temporary guard-rail is provided where eventually wall rails will be installed. This systemized approach enables safe vertical access in the structure very early in the construction process.

As a company, we constantly strive to improve safety in our field, factory and office environments. We also work hard to identify and communicate opportunities for improvement in as many ways as possible. One method of communication and an important resource for our most valuable resource – our employees – is a web based resource we call ConXSafety. ConXSafety is a link to our on-line safety programs, policies & practices. The ConXSafety site is administrated through third party safety experts at InFocus-Safety.com.
