ConXtech’s Structural Steel Fabrication Facility Passes Annual AISC Audit With Zero Non-Conformance

Hayward, CA, February 18, 2011
ConXtech, Inc.’s state-of-the-art structural steel frame manufacturing facility passed its 2011 AISC Certified Building Fabricator audit performed by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). The company’s highly automated facility passed the annual audit with zero non-conformances, a perfect score, for the third year in a row.

“We are proud of our team and our audit results but in our minds, there is always room for improvement and we will continue to aim higher every day,” states Miguel Rivera, ConXtech’s Director of Manufacturing. Only a fraction of steel fabricators attempt to become AISC Certified, and only a fraction of those actually pass the AISC’s stringent audit process. Rivera continues, “What sets ConXtech apart is that we strive to be less a traditional fabrication facility and more a manufacturing facility where technology and process drive workflow and waste is minimized. Quality is not only built into our processes but measured.”

The AISC has stringent audit procedures and compliance criteria with which only a fraction of fabricators comply. Auditors verify that a quality management system is in place, implemented, and effective. Key audit criteria for AISC Certified Building Fabricators include training programs, written documentation, and compliance and internal audit procedures for welding, bolting, contract document review, document control, purchasing, and inspection to ensure unmatched quality in the final product – the building frame.

ConXtech manufactures its innovative steel connections and components in a highly automated factory in Hayward, CA where CNC machine centers and other automated manufacturing technologies accelerate delivery and greatly reduce waste. The company also enables other AISC Certified Fabricators, such as The Herrick Corporation, to streamline processes and automate their existing facilities by offering a turn-key ConX Factory which includes proprietary fixturing, jigs, and documented processes and procedures to produce steel building components and structural building assemblies with unprecedented speed, precision and quality.
