Gilles Caussade, CEO

GILLES CAUSSADE

Gilles Caussade has more than twenty-five years of experience in construction and large projects. He joined ConXtech from Jacobs Engineering, where he was most recently the head of Petroleum and Chemicals for the Americas, a $2 billion a year business with operations in the US, Canada, and Mexico. In that role, Gilles was accountable for strategy, sales, operations, and financial performance across refining, chemicals, and the oil & gas industries. His team included over 4,000 engineers, designers, sales and other staff. Before leading the Petroleum and Chemicals Americas business, Gilles spent more than two decades working in every aspect of project design, construction, and delivery at Jacobs. He started his career as a process engineer and then became project manager before leading a significant part of the heavy industrial business in Europe. He has served a wide range of industries including power, pharmaceutical, government, manufacturing and healthcare facilities in addition to his extensive expertise in the process industry.

Michael Martini, CFO

MICHAEL MARTINI

Mr. Martini brings more than 30 years of executive experience including finance (CFO), business operations and corporate strategy experience to support ConXtech’s rapid growth. Over three decades Mike has honed his expertise in both privately held and public companies. His consummate financial and operational strategies have resulted in successful growth, and ultimately monetization through M&A or IPO. His experience will be invaluable as ConXtech accelerates its deployment of ConX System technologies domestically and abroad.

Mike’s prior roles include  CFO, and other financial and strategic positions in the telecom, cable, utilities, software and transportation industries. Most recently, he served as CFO at enLightened, Inc., where he led finance, accounting, HR and legal. During his tenure, he helped raise over $50M in Series C & D financing. Prior to that, Mike served as CFO for:  Freightquote (acquired by CH Robinson), Saba Software (NASDAQ Company acquired by Vector Capital), @Road, Inc (NASDAQ Company acquired by Trimble Navigation), SPL World Group, BV (acquired by Oracle Corporation).  Other executive roles include TCI Communications and ATT – West Region where he served as CFO  and VP High Speed Data Operations for the regional cable TV, broadband and telecommunications entity prior to its sale to Comcast, as well as CFO roles for Subsidiary Companies of Pacific Telesis, now part of ATT.

ADAM KURTENBACH

Adam Kurtenbach has been in the modular construction industry for over 20 years. He joins ConXtech from KATERRA, where he was most recently the Director of Business Development for the PNW. In this role, Adam was responsible for oversight of almost $500 million in project sales. Previous to his stint at Katerra, Adam ran Business Development for Urban Edge Builders (UEB) where he helped establish their Seattle office and was involved in bringing the first high-rise to the University of Washington district in over 30 years; The M. Adam is a firm believer in the power of innovative, modular, sustainable building practices and their ability to change the built environment for the better. A long-time hockey and lacrosse coach and player, Adam believes in the parallels between these sports and the construction industry; namely, grind to succeed, be accountable every day, and team before individual.

ADAM BROWNE, S.E., P.E.

As the CSEO, Mr. Browne is responsible for ConXtech’s standardized calculations and design methodologies. He also provides technical recommendations and guidance to outside engineering firms working with the ConX System.

Mr. Browne is a licensed California structural engineer with over 20 years of experience. He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of California at Santa Cruz and studied structural engineering at San Francisco State University before joining the firm BFL/OWEN in 1994. He went on to work for Balfour Beatty as their chief engineer on the Golden Gate Bridge Northern Approach Viaduct Seismic Retrofit and California Engineering/Modern Continental’s chief engineer for the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge Seismic Retrofit. Before joining ConXtech in 2012, Mr. Browne was the EOR at FBA and Associates, responsible for the structural design on the first 2 million square feet of ConX structure. There, he was integral in establishing acceptability of the framing system with various building departments and jurisdictions.

KEVIN CHAMBERS

As Vice President of Industrial Operations, Kevin is responsible for growing and executing work in the Process Industry, larger commercial markets such as data centers, and responsible for work with our international clients. Before coming to ConXtech, Kevin worked as a consultant in Project Management for a private company in Houston. Prior to that he spent ten years executing projects in the process industry that ranged in costs of $50MM to $3B. His responsibilities ranged from business development to engineering and design to project management.

Kevin received his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University and has worked in several different markets prior to attending college. In his youth, he worked as a laborer and welder for companies like Fluor and smaller commercial companies. He’s worked on marine construction projects, heavy industrial, power, commercial, and oil field projects in a variety of roles from laborer to welder to owner / operator.

JULIA T. COPELAND

As Director of Human Resources, Julia is responsible for the organization’s overall workforce planning and employment, compensation analysis, benefits administration, employee and labor relations as well as review of the collective bargaining agreement.  Before coming to ConXtech, Julia gained experience in many different industries to include Aerospace Semiconductor Technology, Solar & Renewable Energy, Banking & Financial Institutions, Staffing Firms and Manufacturing.  She brings with her 14 years of Human Resources experience.  Julia’s prior roles include Director of Human Resources as well as Director of Operations & Recruitment.  Her primary responsibilities involved managing the full cycle technical recruiting operations and business workflow, establishing strong relationships with executive level managers and outside clients and vendors, as well as overseeing the implementation and roll out of HRIS and proprietary databases specific to particular industries.  Julia holds her bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Montana State University.

Stephen Boyd, Vice President of Technology

STEPHEN BOYD

As VP Technology, Stephen is responsible for ConXtech’s core products, as well as the hardware, software, processes, and systems needed to successfully execute ConX-based projects. He is a passionate technology leader and innovator driving scalability for ConXtech’s products and setting the stage for long-term growth. As one of the engineers responsible for the XL300 industrial system, Stephen has developed a deep knowledge of the ConXtech product portfolio and all of the underlying systems enabling its success. He has led cross-functional engineers to drive product improvements and scalability that have enabled successful deployment and implementation of ConXtech technology.

With a Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering degree from Union College, Stephen’s background gives him exposure across engineering disciplines. From mechanical design to software, he brings system-level approaches to ConXtech’s unique product. His embrace of agile product development principles and vision for Construction as a product is the backbone for ConXtech’s continued innovation efforts.

Greg Gilliland, Vice President of Production Operations

GREG GILLILAND

As Vice President of Production Operations Greg is responsible for ConXtech’s Manufacturing and Fabrications Operations. Starting his career at ConXtech in 2004 at company conception, he has developed a deep understanding of ConXtech’s core systems, testing/qualification procedures, and processes needed to produce quality ConXtech products.  

Early on at ConXtech, he was a key leader in the development of prototype equipment and processes to manufacture ConXtech’s first systems. Starting in 2013 Greg worked to scale ConXtech’s collar supply chain to meet increased demand for the products. In 2016, he was a key leader for qualifying ConXtech to be an approved vendor for Saudi Aramco, deploying a 30K ton per year factory in Saudi Arabia to deliver fabricated steel to the local market. In 2018, Greg gained responsibility for all operations at the Hayward CA, facility including safety, quality, and production. In 2020, under his leadership, ConXtech successfully deployed fabrication to Veracruz, Mexico. 

Josh Delehman, Director of Business Development

JOSH DELEHMAN

Mr. DeLehman joins ConXtech with 15 years of experience in engineering and construction for the energy, mining, and infrastructure industries. His roles have included senior positions in both Supply Chain Management and Business Development, with an emphasis on construction support services and manufacturing. Early in his career, he spent close to 10 years with Fluor Corporation and completed several U.S. domestic and international field assignments including stints in South America and on the North Slope of Alaska. He’s worked on landmark projects such as the World Trade Center Transportation Hub Project in New York, New York, Newmont Mining’s Minera Yanacocha Conga Project in Cajamarca, Peru, and ExxonMobil’s Point Thomson Development in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. More recently, he led regional business development efforts for Chicago Bridge & Iron’s fabrication and manufacturing division for the Western U.S., and later for Chicago Bridge & Iron’s field erect storage business. A common thread in Mr. DeLehman’s career has been risk mitigation through shifting work from the job site into controlled shop environments where certainty of cost, quality, schedule and safety are more readily achievable. This focus is expected to serve Mr. DeLehman well as he works to grow ConXtech’s core business. Mr. DeLehman holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.

Jim Sledzik

JIM SLEDZIK

Jim Sledzik is Managing Director for the North America team of Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures (SAEV). The corporate venture capital fund invests globally in early-stage and high-growth technology companies of strategic importance to Saudi Aramco.

With more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including 10 years in venture capital and private equity investing, Jim joined Aramco in October 2018. He is responsible for overseeing existing investments and growing SAEV’s investment portfolio in North America.

Prior to Aramco, Mr. Sledzik served as Managing Director at Hall Labs, known for innovation in tackling some of the world’s most challenging problems, ranging from sustainability to personal transportation. He provided corporate governance and strategic direction for companies incubated within Hall Labs, assisting with product development, patents and monetizing game-changing technologies in the world’s largest markets.

Mr. Sledzik served as Senior Partner and President of North America for EV Private Equity from 2008 to 2017, managing five funds targeting technology-driven, high-growth potential companies in the upstream oil and gas sector. His career spans a wide range of marketing and technology roles including Global Marketing & New Technology Director and Vice President of Multi Client Services for geophysical services company WesternGeco and Global Account Director for oil and gas technology provider Schlumberger.

Jim earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor’s of science in geosciences from Pennsylvania State University. He is a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and serves on the advisory board for the Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship at Rice University.

Dean Glover

DEAN GLOVER

Mr. Glover is currently CEO and President of Miratech Group, LLC and CEO of Techniks Tool Group. He brings over 25 years of product manufacturing, engineering and supply chain expertise to ConXtech’s Board.

Prior to Miratech, Mr. Glover led global manufacturing and supply chain operations, and served as Chairman and CEO of Diebold France. He also held executive roles at Global Power Equipment Group Inc. and Braden Manufacturing. Earlier in his career, Mr. Glover spent 13 years with General Electric in managerial and technical roles. In addition to ConXtech, Mr. Glover serves on the board of Ocean Power Technologies, Inc.

Mr. Glover holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. He also is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt.

Kevin Skillern

KEVIN SKILLERN

Mr. Skillern has spent the majority of his 25-year career focused on investment and strategy development in the global energy sector. He is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Energy Innovation Capital (EIC), the premier capital provider to innovative energy technology companies. ConXtech was one of the first EIC investments.

Prior to EIC, Mr. Skillern led GE’s technology investment program from 2005 through 2013, investing in emerging technology companies in the energy industry. He also led a joint $300 million fund with ConocoPhillips and NRG Energy. Prior to GE, Mr. Skillern’s previous experience included key roles in a number of equity and debt investments, and 9 years as a strategy consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton. Mr. Skillern has an MBA from Stanford University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Robert Simmons, CTO and Chairman

ROBERT SIMMONS

Mr. Simmons is a Co-founder of ConXtech and Member of the Board. A serial entrepreneur, he is renowned as a hands-on innovator and thought leader in the Industrialized Construction sector and is a named inventor on 145+ patents.

Self-employed since the age of 17, Mr. Simmons’ early career focused on delivering concrete parking podiums for large regional and national high-density residential developers. Over decades, his design-build concrete company, RJS & Associates has grown to employ over 400 full-time employees.

In 2000, Mr. Simmons conceived the ConX System after working to develop a more efficient structural solution to replace the wood typically constructed atop concrete podiums to frame high-density housing. He identified structural steel as the optimal medium for its strength, architectural flexibility and overall sustainability. He developed a modular structural steel framing system to simplify and accelerate design integration, fabrication, and field assembly – while enhancing safety and quality. Simmons has since developed ConX Systems for commercial and industrial applications and continues to innovate.
